Miss Emily - I have lived in Monona my whole life. I started dancing when I was around four years old, and I have been dancing ever since. I have always loved ballet and more recently I have learned I also like lyrical. I am excited to teach your children to dance and instill the love and passion I have for dance in them.
Arianne Kluesner (Miss Ari)
I started dancing at the age of 3. My mom was a tap dancer/teacher so I was at the studio all the time! My dad says I was a natural, always standing just one step in front of the other kids! I studied ballet, tap and jazz and completed my Advanced level Exams in the Royal Academy of Dancing and the Imperial Society of Dance while in high school. I attended the University of Iowa, and graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Dance. My husband and I moved to Madison in 1999. I have taught at multiple studios in town. I danced with Jazzworks Dance company from 2002-2010 and also choreographed for the company. I taught dance at the YMCA of Dane County from 2000-2013, and directed the program from 2010-2013.
Currently I teach at Ultimate Leap Dance Center and have been there since 2014.
I also enjoy teaching Zumba! I have been certified in Zumba since 2009. And Aqua certified in 2010. I teach Aqua Zumba classes at the Monona Grove High School pool during the year and the Monona outdoor pool in the summer.
I am very excited to start classes at the Monona Community Center and share my love and passion of dance!
My name is Mallory Gehrmann and I would like to personally welcome you and your child to my dance class. I am a recent graduate from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a Dance minor. I will be a graduate of Loyola University in May with my Master’s in Clinical Social Work. Growing up, I received my dance training at a local studio in Madison. With my love for dance, I decided to continue on with my training in college. While there, I taught at a local dance studio. For the last two summers, I have taught at Monona Recreation Department.
My goal this semester is to share the gift of dance to your child. I will provide a fun, supportive, and comfortable learning environment. This learning environment will encourage self-esteem, and will help your child develop a love of and appreciation for the art of dance.
Jazz: Jazz is a style of dance that finds its roots in ballet, but was enhanced by musical trends, social dances, and the popularization of dance through movies and musicals. These classes place an emphasis on isolating body parts, increased flexibility, and creative dance sequences.
Hip-Hop: This class is designed to facilitate the best functions of the body. Students work from a warm-up to locomotive floor work, then a cool-down. Moves and choreography will be introduced.
Jazz Students - black leotard and black tights, black dance shorts
Hip-Hop Students - black loose fitting clothing
