Mass Transit Authority
Monona has several forms of public transportation for residents and visitors. The Mass Transit Authority (MTA) develops and recommends to the City Council policies on the various elements of public transportation and transportation facilities. The purpose of the Mass Transit Authority is to provide for the safe and efficient transport of persons and goods within the community.

Monona Express

Monona Express is a contracted commuter service, which makes four loops each morning and four loops each afternoon to take riders to downtown Madison, the UW Campus, and UW, VA, Meriter, and St. Marys Hospitals. View routes, fares, and schedules.

This is a free service (donations accepted) sponsored by Dane County Department of Human Services which provides free transit to different area places and events each day, from museums to shopping to movie theaters.  More information...
