Library Building Closed. Curbside Services. Computer Use by Appointment.

The Monona Public Library is only offering curbside pickup and computer use by appointment. Patrons are not able to enter the building. We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we continue to adjust our services to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

Our service hours for curbside pickup & assistance over the phone are:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 2pm - 6pm
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 10am - 2pm
Sunday: Closed

Curbside Pickup: If you have received a hold notice from LINKcat (email, call, or text message) that your items are at Monona Library, you can come to the library entrance on Healy Lane off the parking lot and call the library to request your hold item(s) during our service hours. No appointment is necessary. When you arrive, call the library at (608) 222-6127 and verify your name and account with staff on the phone. Staff will complete the checkout process for you and bring your items out for curbside pickup. 

Help placing holds: Patrons unfamiliar with placing your own holds on items in LINKcat should email or call the library for assistance. We will do our best with any information you can give us to find adequate materials in the library to fulfill your requests. 

Materials from other libraries: For safety reasons, the inter-library delivery system is operating with a slower schedule. Because of this, it will take longer for items from other libraries to be delivered here, sometimes 1-2 weeks. The fastest way to get items is to look for those that are available at Monona Library. Off the Shelf - Let Us Help You: Looking for some new reads? Let us help you find some! We’ve put together some recommendations in a variety of categories for adults and children. Just call the library at 608-222-6127 during our service hours to reserve a few “surprise” titles in specific genres or subject areas. Library staff can also provide active concierge-level service, including reading synopses of available titles. We’re happy to even surprise you with something we think you’ll like! We’ll prepare the items for you to pick up curbside.

Returns: Books can be returned only on the lower level, using the outdoor bookdrop. Given the layout of the library building, and our focus on safety through quarantining of items, this is our best option for the safety of patrons and staff. The bookdrop for returns is open 24/7. 

New Library Card Account: If you are new to the area, you can fill out an online form here to register for a library account. This number will give you the ability to place holds for curbside pickup and access our digital resources. You can read more about that process here.
