It’s the 50th anniversary of Earth Day this year!

Even though we can’t celebrate Earth Day in person this year, Monona still wants to celebrate this holiday that started right here in Wisconsin! We’re moving our Earth Day programming online, so keep checking this web page for updates and resources. You can participate by tuning in to WVMO at 98.7FM and following our Facebook page @SustainableMonona.

Did you know that Earth Day started right here in Wisconsin? Back in 1970, Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson started Earth Day as a day of environmental education for people across the country. 50 years later, we’re continuing to build on Senator Nelson’s legacy with a whole week of education for the Monona community.
