Option 3: Sidewalk along East Side

Typical Sections

These options will be debated by City Council at upcoming capital budget meetings on October 4th and 18th.

Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements Plan

The City of Monona completed its first ever comprehensive pedestrian and bicycle improvements plan in 2019 a year after forming a steering committee to review an engineering study performed by Strand Associates Inc.  The project stemmed from prior reports and studies performed as part of two school zone studies from 2008 and 2012, a strategic planning gap analysis survey from 2013, the City's comprehensive plan adopted in 2016, and the UniverCity (UCY) Alliance Active Transportation projects completed in the 2016-2017 academic year in cooperation with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
