SUBMISSION OF PHOTOGRAPHS
Any person submitting photographs for inclusion in the City’s web site grants the City the right to include the photographs in the web site in any manner the City deems appropriate for public information without additional consideration or compensation. Participants release the City, and its officials and employees, from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising out of or relating to the publication of the photograph on the web site. All photographs submitted become the property of the City and will not be returned.
It is the responsibility of each person submitting photographs to ensure that, with respect to each photograph:
a. All appropriate and necessary permissions and consents have been obtained including any copyright licences and consents under appropriate law; and
b. The photograph is not obscene, offensive or otherwise inappropriate for publication on the web site.
PRIVACY
When you visit the City’s web site simply to browse, read, or download information we will not collect any individual identifying or personal information.
If you use the web site to request a service, make a payment, or apply for a job or permit we will ask that you submit certain pieces of relevant personal information, based on the action taken. As allowed by law, we will not share your personal or financial information with any third party at any time without your explicit permission. However, please be aware that the City of Monona, as a governmental agency, must comply with various laws concerning open records and freedom of information. Thus, any information that we receive through use of our site will be subject to the same provisions as information provided to us through other media (such as printed material or voice records.) Property and permit information, in particular, are commonly deemed to be "public records." As such we often must, by law, make this information available upon request.
If you send us an electronic mail message with a question or comment that contains personally identifying information, or fill out a form that e-mails us this information, we will use only the personally identifiable information to respond to your request.
