Frost Woods Beach
Another lovely “pocket park” is Frost Woods Beach on Lake Monona’s Squaw Bay. The entrance is in the 5800 block of Winnequah Road and there’s a small parking lot on site. It’s a heavily wooded park with a small, sandy beach, good for picnicking and swimming. During the winter, many ice fishermen use Frost Woods Beach to get out onto the ice.
A kayak/canoe rack is available at Frost Woods Park for Monona residents to store their boats during the boating season (May 1-Oct. 31). The fee to rent a space on this rack is $60/season. To inquire about renting a space, please call the Monona Park and Recreation Office at 222-4167.
