Monona Drive Reconstrucion Project: Phase 2 (Winnequah Road to Cottage Grove Road)
Planning is currently underway for Phase 2 of the Monona Drive Reconstruction project. Project Phase 2 emcompasses the stretch of Monona Drive between Winnequah Road and Cottage Grove Road, and construction on this phase is scheduled to begin in 2012. Final plans are expected to be approved in late summer, 2011. Plans and documents will be posted as they become available.

Monona Drive Reconstrucion Project: Phase 3 (Nichols/Pflaum Road to Winnequah Road)
The cities of Monona and Madison, along with Dane County, are beginning the design process for the Phase 3 section of Monona Drive. They have hired Strand Associates, Inc. to help with the design of Phase 3 that spans from Nichols Road/Pflaum Road to Winnequah Road. Construction is currently scheduled for 2013. To gather resident and business input into the design that is currently being considered, the cities and the county hosted a public involvement meeting on February 3, 2011. Monona Drive's Alive! and Monona Moola
The Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with local business owners, is running the "Monona Drive's Alive" campaign to help promote local businesses during the reconstruction. This campaign includes the Monona Moola program which allows customers to spend $4 in real cash for $5 in Monona Moola cash which can be used at participating businesses. Visit their website at

Monona Drive Facade Improvement Program
In conjuntion with the reconstruction of Monona Drive, the City of Monona is offering grant funding to Monona Drive property owners to invest in the building sites and facades. For more information on this program,
