The Green Monona Tour
Take the Green Monona Tour on Sunday, June 14 to see environmentally-friendly measures employed in Monona. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., you can visit 9 homes, 4 businesses, a church, and a city property to see what is being done to lessen the human impact on the environment, save money, and nurture the Monona community.
Renewable energy, rain gardens, pavers, lighting technologies, an energy audit in action, and much more – see them up close and personal with those who have experience in how they work. Exhibits and representatives from organizations and companies helping people take green steps will also be on hand.
The City of Monona Sustainability Committee is organizing the free tour. Visitors can make one stop on the tour, or many. They can take the tour self-guided, or via the Wal-Mart sponsored bus loop.
