The City of Monona's new trash/recycling collection routes are effective as of Tuesday, January 3, 2012. All residents who have their new trash carts must begin using them.
Residents in trash district 1 have their trash collected on Tuesdays. Residents in district 2 have their trash collected on Wednesdays Those residents in the "A" section of their districts also have their recycling collected this week. Residents who would like to dispose of their old garbage cans have two options:
- Until the end of January, residents can place their old, empty garbage cans at the curb next to their new trash container. As long as the old cans are empty, Veolia will pick them up as trash.
- Also until the end of January, the City will provide a special dumpster in the parking lot of the Outdoor Pool (near the skateboard park) for old garbage cans.
