The Monona History Club:  It's Back!

On Sunday, October 8 at 2 pm, the Monona History Club presents Melanie Radzicki McManus, author of Thousand-Miler: Adventures in Hiking the Ice Age Trail, to kick off it's spring/fall lecture series. Melanie McManus hiked the 1,100 miles of the Ice Age Trail in thirty-six days, and she will tell us about her exciting "into-the-wild" Ice Age experience, including the fascinating details of the history of the trail. McManus, an award-winning travel writer, has been highly praised for her alternately harrowing and humorous portrayal of Wisconsin's forests, prairies, wetlands, farms, and small towns.  Her new book has received rave reviews from "Wild" author Cheryl Strayed, among others. Books available for purchase and signing. Refreshments provided by the Monona Starbucks.
