Monona Farmers' Market
Sunday, July 5, 2020
The Monona Farmers' Market is held every Sunday through October from 8:30 am-12:30 pm at Ahuska Park. Parking is free, and a bike rack is located near the entrance. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, patrons and vendors must wear a face mask.
The Monona Farmers Market is a great place to head this holiday weekend! The selection of summer produce is expanding. You’ll find plants, flowers, cheese, honey, spices and condiments, baked goods, popcorn, dog treats, soaps and other locally made products.
Some safety measures have been updated. Following the guidelines of FORWARD DANE, a Public Health Madison and Dane County plan and UW Extension Guidelines the market strives to bring fresh, local products to the public safely and continues to practice Social Distancing. Vendors are spaced to allow patrons to maintain safe distance. There is an entrance with a hand sanitizing station, a one-way route through the market and an exit. Pets are not allowed. Facemasks continued to be required for both vendors and patrons. What’s new is children are now allowed but must wear facemasks. Kids under age three should be in strollers or wear a mask. Friends and family members may shop together but must limit the number of people in your group. Reusable shopping bags are permitted. For questions, stop by the market booth near the entrance. Check out the website, mononafarmersmarket.com and Facebook for weekly updates.
To make healthy, local food available to everyone, EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) is available. Double Dollars, a program for FoodShare recipients that offers a $1 for $1 match for all SNAP purchases up to $25 per market day, officially begins on Sunday, July 5 and will continue through August 31. Sanitize-able plastic tokens instead of paper dollars for open-air markets will be used.
The market is located at Ahuska Park, 400 E. Broadway. Hours are 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Parking is free. A bike rack is near the entrance.
