Committee Responsibilities
  • The Finance and Personnel Committee reviews and supervises implementation of the auditor's recommendations
  • Investigates options for borrowing funds for capital and outlay expenditures
  • Recommends depositories for city funds
  • Reviews claims against the city
  • Reviews accounting procedures
  • Reviews ordinances and resolutions having a fiscal impact on the city
  • Receives and reviews the annual budget from the Mayor and City Administrator and proposes a legislative budget to the City Council
  • Reviews recommendations for revenue generation, including investment of city funds
  • Reviews intergovernmental contracts
  • Reviews all personnel matters, including establishment of wage and salary schedules for management and unclassified employees
  • Reviews all labor contracts and labor relations policies of the city
