One person can make a difference, and a group can make a world of difference. Volunteering in the parks can be simple and fun. Gather a group of friends or sign up as an individual. Tasks such as raking, picking up trash, or planting trees make such a difference in our beautiful Monona Parks! Volunteering in the parks is a great way to give back to our wonderful community. Every time you step back in that park you will know you made a difference!
Volunteers are vital to the success of the city and county’s commitment to provide quality parks and recreation programs and facilities to our citizens. Volunteers not only provide invaluable support, but they also bring new ideas, energy, and a community perspective to the future of parks and recreation. We welcome your skills, time and energy. Whether you are an individual or group looking for a one-time event or an on-going project, we have an opportunity for you.
Volunteering offers a variety of wide-ranging benefits. By volunteering at our parks, trails, sports fields, and recreation centers, you can:
Help build community.
Ensure the continuing vitality and health of our beautiful parks and open spaces.
Spend time in nature.
Enhance work and life experiences.
Meet new people, build lasting relationships and have fun.

Thank you for showing interest to volunteer as a Geese Mitigation Volunteer. It is our hope that your efforts
will help to move the geese from areas that are used by people and reduce conflicts and the amount of fecal
matter present within the play areas.
This is a trial program that we hope will have a positive and lasting
Your role as a volunteer is important and will be highly visible. Our intent is not to harm the geese, but to
encourage them to move from the park area to other areas where they will be less of an impact. When
engaging in these activities, you must keep the safety of the public, yourself and your dog as the highest
